CG Pro/VVDI-Prog m35160wt adapter review

Here are reviews of m35160wt read/write using CG Pro and VVDI-Prog
35160 adapter for CG Pro:
i am in contact with cg pro to find a solution as they say it works 100%, the cgpro 9s12 works good on 35080 3, 6, vp, 080dq, 160dq. used on cas3 read very fast. have not tried cas4 yet. as i have yanhua mini too for cas 4, but since getting these tools have no cas4 to play with. will keep you updated
You must follow instruction, for me it work 100%...
You must do it in epron editor and put FF in 4 frist lines...and programme...
I use it and 100% can erase WQ16..........

Easiest Way: How to program MB E320 new keys when all keys lost

This is for those looking for the easiest way to program new keys to 2000 Mercedes E320 when all keys are lost. Done with VVDI tools.
Tips and guides through questions and answers.....
Should be able to read password via IR?
I haven't really use the IR very much. When I plugged it into the MB it didn't seem to get any power. There was no red LED on the IR telling me there was power to it. Can you remind me when I may be doing wrong
Is it on the vehicle or on the bench?

There's the problem. On the vehicle it will read via ir. Have you got vvdi prog?

So your option is to read via prog (solder or use eis adapter) then load file into vvdi mb or put back on vehicle and read in situ. What is the eis part number?
I'm not looking at it at the moment but it started with a 210. It's the 1d49j I believe. Last time I did one of these I had to remove and attached to a mezzanine board for the vvdi prog. I haven't seen an adapter for this. Just for future reference I had no clue you could read with the IR in the car. What is the process for doing that do you still plug in the OBD adapter and the IR reader etc
No need for obd connector. Just use ir straight in the car. It doesn't always read but worth a try. Once you tell me part number I will tell you the most efficient way to tackle this job.

Do you have vvdi mb power adapter?
Yes
the little adapter that you plug into the OBD side that's supposed to allow you to do quicker password collection
Then easy job, instructions are within the mb program...

Read eis, then calculate password (I assume you have tokens), then create key. Job done
Do you have a suggestion for where to acquire the wire to connect the OBD and the EIS
Just use any cable and some crimps to get you sorted on this job. It'd be good to make your own few test cables using proper connectors for the future

NEC Chinese keys: Which Mercedes key programmer works for?

Every programmer that can program keys by IR will work on chinese keys (only write once). (ak500, noimmo, mercedes instrument, necpro 57, diagspeed, thelegendweb, simon touch.
With the tools I quoted I can only guarantee they all can program NEC chinese keys one time. Someone told me that some of these tools can also renew and program again these chinese keys, but I can not guarantee that because I never tested.
Remember I'm talking about random NEC chinese keys, not BE keys from noimmo.
BE key from noimmo can be written/renewed/read as much as you want by noimmo mbkeyprog and various other tools already.I'm not going to specify their names because I haven't tested them.

Regarding NEC EZS...
In this situation: EZS (NEC)+Working v51/57 NEC key, all these recent devices can add new keys, and most can also program new elv.
In this situation: EZS (NEC)+Working BGA key, the only device that can add new key/program elv is Diagspeed.
In this situation: EZS (NEC)+All Keys Lost, there is NO PUBLIC DEVICE that will add new key/program elv. The suggested solution is to buy a "virgin" EZS and adapt it directly/gray key(depends on tool). Myself, I think this solution is very expensive and would only be worth doing it if the car can absolutely not get new EIS from dealer.

Regarding w204 ELV...
First you need to know if ELV is not working only because of broken motor or also NEC disabled.
When you insert key on EIS, if you ear relay's "ticking" inside ELV it indicates NEC is not disabled yet.

If NEC IS NOT DISABLED:
-You can replace motor with a new one.
-You can replace brushes inside original motor.
-You can get a ELV from a crashed car from scrapyard and swap the NEC.

If NEC IS DISABLED:
-You NEED to get some information from the EIS/Key. (You always need a WORKING KEY for this situation, again, if it is BGA only diagspeed can do it.)
-After you get this information you have various options:
--Repair+renew+program the old disabled NEC. (only thelegendweb, simontouch and diagspeed can do it)
--Get a used (but working) ELV from scrapyard, renew+program it by plug connection. (noimmo, mercedesinstrument, diagspeed, necpro57 can do it)*****
--Program an emulator.

-Or you can go to dealer, owner must sign the papers and wait for the things to arrive(From a few days to several days depending on country).

Some of these solution involve opening/mounting/closing ELV which can be a hassle for many people.

*****You need to check that some devices/companies will charge you tokens to calculate files, renew units, etc.

Anyway, to me, my unbiased selection of the best device is Diagspeed, however I don't own it and not much people talk about it in this forum.

So you need to really know what you want to be able to repair and if it's worth to buy a 1k or 3k or 6k or 8k or 10k device for that matter.

Clone CarProg Rework for Fast Reprogramming

Finally, I made a modification to my Carprog clone for fast reprogramming, if I need to do it again will not be necessary to open it again and redo all connection every time I want or need to reprogram:

I used the Carprog pins from 15 to 21, those pins are useless for the programmer or any adapter, they are disconnected:


I used a "selector" like the desktop's pc for bios, to select the programming mode, in picture from left to right: 1, 2 3, if the jumper is placed at pins 1 and 2, the pin 55 (reset) from the AT91 is shorted to ground, preventing deprogramming or programming the MCU, if the jumper is placed at pins 2 and 3 the pin 55 is shorted to vcc 3.3v and the Mcu is placed in ERASE MODE. Without jumper the mcu is placed in programming mode:


Now is probably a waste of time, in the near future will save me some time but from now I can reflash the AT91 in less than 5 minutes.

Update: I forgot to mention that I doesn't need to remove the AT88SC eeprom to ERASE/REFLASH the AT91 mcu. After that the Carprog works well. This is MY OWN experience, so, If you want to do the same, do it at YOUR OWN risk.

Mongoose (Pro) SP116 SP205 SP205-B: Which is the best?

For those interested. 
I just received the new Mongoose Pro (clone, SP205) I ordered after my original Mongoose (non Pro, SP116) died on me.
I noticed on several Chinese suppliers sites that the Mongoose Pro is mentioned as being V142 and it seems to be technically different having more / better voltage protectors. They also mention JLR 1.37 not being able to do offline programming.
I asked the question if this version, which the seller calls 1.42, would work with the older SDD 1.31 version. I prefer to keep that version because it doesn’t need patches or anything. Didn’t get an answer but I thought it would.
The clone comes with 1 DVD with version 1.39 of the software (including Mongoose driver and stuff for Mazda and Ford). Also with 3 DVD’s with the 1.42 version (including Mongoose driver and serial). 
I deleted the old Mongoose driver from my VirtualBox with SDD V1.31.3 and installed the one from the 1.39 DVD and the SDD works fine again with the new MongoosePro.
The version I bought is also named Version SP205 by the seller.
I have used them so far on my X308 (2001), on a X308 (1997), X100 (1999), X350 (2005), X400 (2001). So far they never failed.
For me it makes more sense to have a “handy” device for fault detection and/or programming.
But this, of course, is up to everyone himself and it could be from 8,9″ to 14″ as I tested here:
